Senior Service - Guardian Angel School

At Guardian Angel School Louisville students worked directly with the students of the school. They read to the students, helped them with arts & crafts, and also assisted the teachers in a variety of ways.

Guardian Angel was a really fun service to do. I got to help the teachers with preparing projects, help kids prepare for a spelling test, and even help with long division and averages, which was very much needed for my own sake. The kids are so fun to be around, if you like to be around kids. Corinna and I attempted to have a jump rope competition which didn't turn out so well but, none the less, it was fun. Helping out in First, Third, and Fourth Grade gave me a flashback to when I was in elementary school. Some things never change in those ages and some things surprise me, like the knowledge these kids have about society at such a young age. I would love to visit there again and hope that others had/have the same experience as I did.

I am very happy that i chose Guardian Angel school as my senior service!I wish i could have gone to this school for both of my senior services. I loved this experience. it was great! i got to work with the little Kindergardeners, and they were so cute and sweet. I had a lot of fun helping them with math and art. All of the kids were so sweet and wonderful, I miss them! I would go back anyday, and i would highly reccomend keeping this service so that others can experience it also!!

I had so much fun at Guardian Angel. It was a great experience and was more engaging than I thought it would be. I think we all got somewhat attached to the kids and we got a chance to showcase the kids within us. I miss my second grade class because they were all amazing and entertaining. I was able to give the kids their spelling test which was a good experience. And helping the students do their classwork and homework made it feel as though I was actually making a difference in their lives. I would recommend this community service any day and I hope others learn things from it like I did.

Hello... I chose Guardian Angel as my service. It was all right, I guess. I suppose I'm just not really all that great around small children. They did seem to like me, but I'm not really all that comfortable around small children and people in general... or at least I'm not really all that comfortable around them. Despite that, I think at least some of it was fun... although a bit tedious and monotonous while in the classroom, it was very entertaining to watch the antics of the younger kids in mild disbelief and simultaneously wonder if we were all the same as children.

I'm so glad that I chose Guardian Angel School for my service! It was so much fun and the kids were so great. They wanted to play during every break, and I had so much fun helping them with their projects and classwork because they were always so enthusiastic. I felt like I really affected my class of second graders, if only for a little while. The kids made cards all on their own for Kristina and I and one boy even gave us daisies. I would definetly recommend this service to everyone.

Volunteering at Guardian Angel School was one of the most exciting Christian service projects I have ever done. I helped Mrs. Llamas, the fourth grade teacher, and her class by grading papers and helping students with long division and averages. At first I was a bit rusty, but soon after I got the hang of it. I really enjoyed working with these kids, they were awesome! I would highly reccomend volunteering, at Guardian Angel, to anyone. I really do miss all of the children and I want to go back there as soon as possible.

I'm very glad that I got to go to guardian angel to do my service. It was a lot of fun being with all the little kids. I worked with the first, third, and fourth graders. I helped them with their homework, long division, and spelling. I also helped the fourth grade teacher greade papers and cut and paste booklets for the students. all the kids there made it so much fun to be there but at the end it was a little bit sad because they kept asking if we would come back next week. i wish i could go back.i miss all the kids they are so adorable.
